I am EB3-India, yet I dont support the removal of per country limits, as there is a reason for the diversity rule, Indians and Chinese are currently on the wrong side of the equation so it seems "fair" to remove the quota.
BS...
The diversity rule originated to preserve racial purity and keep down Chinese immigrant population, in the 19th century. You want to preserve it?
If rules weren't meant to change, why have the fricking senates, parliaments and elected officials?? All we need is one court to run the whole country.
These EB country limits might look OK to you now, but in the future they'll be no doubt condemned and scrapped. The sooner the better.

But advocates for skilled immigrantsmany of whom remain stuck for years on H-1Bs waiting in the long queue for permanent residencyworry that the bill is a political maneuver rather than an earnest effort at reform. Aman Kapoor, president of the skilled immigrant advocate group Immigration Voice, says that a more effective bill would ensure H-1B visa workers are on a level playing field with U.S. workers. "Skilled immigrants on H-1Bs don't get the same rights and protections as everyone else," says Kapoor. "So wouldn't the solution be to empower and enable the skilled immigrants on H-1Bs such thatskilled immigrants on H-1s have adequate protections so that no one can take advantage of [them]? But no one wants to talk about protections for skilled immigrants."

After speaking to a few people who did an MBA and a couple of MBA consultants I think that most important parts of an MBA are the in-class experiance of working with other folks in the class and the opportunity to build a network. I seriously doubt if online MBAs can provide them.

Do you think the drive would have reached its original goal yesterday/early today without the January visa bulletin retrogressing us even further...?
I have my doubts about that... :)
And how far in the past would we need to retrogress to get another funding drive done...?
jazz
I dont think theres any doubt in the value iv is providing - selling it is the issue. I can be proved wrong in a month but the ongoing funding drive is kind of a ray of hope that people will be willing to give both time & money to help themselves and others.

IMMIGRATION VOICE ACTION ALERT: 7/11/2007.
Dear Members:
Immigration Voice is organizing its first peaceful protest rally in San Jose, CA on July 14th in order to protest the broken system of legal high-skills immigration. This protest march is being organized to oppose the enormous visas backlogs in the employment based immigration system. This protest march is also intended to oppose the recent decision of USCIS to block the adjustment of status petitions in July resulting from an unprecedented out-of-order reversal on the part of DOS and USCIS.
Please join this rally in huge numbers to create more awareness in the Media, Congress and the Administration. We are already getting attention of Congress and the Administration due to recently published articles on the flower campaign in New York Times and Washington Post on July 11th. If you cannot join but if you know someone who lives in San Jose area and who doesn’t know about this effort, please ask him or her to join this rally. More numbers will get us more media coverage and more attention to this issue.

No, EB3 ROW can use all the available EB3 ROW numbers. But the unused EB2 (ROW/Mex/Phil) have been distributed to the oversubscribed countries.
That's how I interpret that.
The popular belief was that the unused EB2 ROW would first go EB3 ROW but according to this they actually go to the oversubscribed countries in the same category (EB2)
If EB2 quota stays at EB-2 and EB-1 quota goes to EB-2 if unused. That really benefits EB-2 India/China and will hurt all the EB-3 filer. I can see many EB-3 filer, no matter they are China/India/RoW may want to interfile and upgrade to EB-2. I wonder if USCIS do this in purpose to make extra revenue? If there are 30% of EB-3 filer try to file EB-2 again, USCIS can really make some bucks out.

Since I did not set up the website, I am not sure how members and guests are counted, but I can tell you from my own experience that I log in when I have something to say or when I get prompted. So many times if I just come and quickly see what is new, I do not log in,....that might be lazy but I figure many do this, hence the number you see could be 300 members and 133 guests or so....
I see 136 members and 297 guests online! I wonder why guests have more tensions than members?

Someone left me this comment with a red (ofcourse).
"Just because you are a consultant to a sleazy company does not make you incapable. The company might be not the consultant."
Sir/Madam,
I totally agree with your first statement. As I posted, people can be victim of circumstances. But, I believe there is always a choice and people tend to agree with their selfish side. It's the human nature. Please note that I am NOT questioning skills/knowledge of an EB3 candidate.
Baffling picture is that people get on the defensive in a second without justifying wrong doings or criminal acts. They tend to question other person's credibility or totally discredit his statements without even addressing the question.

The lawmakers have been working hard, they just passed the energy bill late last night. Give them a break..
The meeting won't start until the House session is over, they are currently voting on a bill in the House
The proceedings have not started yet. I see people moving in and out.
Reminds me of the Govt Offices in India. Doesnt look much different here !!!
And they are probably gonna take a break at 12 for lunch .. lets c!!!

I agree, there is slim chance that 5882 could pass, we must do our best and not let it slip out of our hands. Keep writing and calling. At this rate EB 3 I will not move more than a couple of months per year. The new visa allocation policy will retrogress EB3 ROW too and as EB3 ROW starts getting retrogressed there will be less and less available for EB3 I.
If you can porting to EB2 is always a better choice.
For EB3-I's with PD > 2005 it is worth the risk even with the gray area that USCIS may not accept the porting. An EB2 I PD of 2008/9 will always be better than EB3 I PD > 2005.
HR 5882 is the only solution for all atleast for this year.
