I am too sure you can get away with it. You are at fault for the below reason.
1) Employing a person without checking their immigration status is an offense.
2) It can come back and haunt you as you helped her in tax evasion. Employer by law MUST report to IRS for any compensation paid.
3) Since the lady is going down, she might take you along with her...What will you do if the lady tells the cops that "she told you that she cannot work here legally and you told her that it is OK and I will pay you in cash"... It becomes a story of she said and he said. They have enough proof of you not legally employing her.
Ignorace of a law is NOT an excuse.
I might be totally wrong on this.. Check with a attorney.

Instead of allowing US STEM graduates to get GC based on US job offer it would be beneficial to instead allow US STEM graduates to apply and get H1B without any quota. Tht way they will get into the system and don't need to go back to home country. Giving GC to STEM graduates directly is wrong by law because it bypasses labour and 140 conditions which state that a company is willing to sponser GC for a person based on current market conditions.
Its already there. 20000 for masters and phd students.
Giving GC to stem is to bypass them from EB based line, which means they won't consume numbers from 140k. Isn't this good?

Dont you have something called humanity? How are you different from the officer how has done this act? You dont even have a greencard and talking about paying from your pocket?? What would you become when you are citizen here?
Another Lou Dobbs??
Shame on you!!
Easy bro. What humanity are we talking about here? I have no sympathies for illegal immigrants. Here's what I feel. Folks who are already here illegally - give them citizenship after they pay all the taxes they owe.
For still others who continue to keep coming in, strip them, give them dozen lashes in public, and send them back naked.

I think there would be a substantial relief if unused visas are reallocated to oversubscribed countries as in 2003/2004.
Also the 'side' flow might help immensely.
As I stated earlier only a US Citizen can petition USCIS for release of information.
All we can do is speculate.
Keep dreaming, dreams do sometimes come true, but dream gods prefer GC holders..

I did notify them. First I called USCIS and told them about this, they opened an SR and after sometiem I received some bullshit response for the SR.
Then I took an Infopass appointment to return the EAD (Someone else's). Then this IO was at the counter, she was stunned to see omeone else's EAD and the response for the SR I had opened. I asked her, if they had sent a new EAD to the other person, she said no and thanked me for taking the pains to take an appointment to return it back. That day also, I aksed her about our Namecheck status.
I was happy to see her at the counter today, as she was very nice and help the last time and was hopeful that she might help me with the namecheck status with an Infopass appointment.

Potatoes, maybe.
But seriously growing your own vegetables is a fun activity. I have not done groceries in the last few months (exceptions being junk fast food, yoghurt etc). We grow vegetables all year round. In fact we have excess of most vegetables we grow. Try it, its a lot of fun!
And good luck to all EB2 and EB3 folks - we've seen good EB2 movement and we hope we'll see more movements in both EB2 and EB3 in the days to come. Till then, Happy gardening!!
PotatoEater,
I grow different kind in my backyard. It all depends on the size of your backyard and which zone you live in states. I live in virginia. By this August end /september first week summer crop will end. I grow tomatoes(30 plants), Mint, snake guard, water melons (15 plants), cantaloupes(10 plants), carrots, okra, spinach , chillis. Its fun and hard work too. You need to dig the soil, mix with top soil or garden soil and cultivate it. Every week fertilize it. This is my first year gardening. I have around 3000 square ft of back yard. i do not know what to do with that. I cannot maintain Lawn in back yard. So I decided to grow vegetables.
I am eagerly waiting for my fall garden..I am planning to grow tulips, beets, cilantro, carrots, potato, peas etc., If I can get same space for garden In India and work place just 3 miles from home , I can happily go back to India.

If we do end up setting a separate PayPal account, I would suggest getting the data and sending it via PM to members who contribute. Not sure why the information needs to be shared with people who never contribute.

What exactly do you mean to do? Throw in your ideas and nothing will be spared...
I was watching TV the other day and saw an infomercial from National Association of Realtors promoting some kind of reform for home finance. They had interesting stats like "Home ownerships contributes ~ 2 trillion USD towards nation economy. So anything that promotes home ownership should help economy come out of recession". I am thinking if we can gather some useful stats around how much NRIs (non-GC holders from US) have invested in Indian Real Estate and how much of that could have been invested here in US (and other numbers like these), and then use them to convince those in power that an expedited GC process for those who want to be a part of main stream US resident population would help US economy.

Great Job by IV.
In fact, I met a fellow IV'ian who joined IV three days ago after learning about it through a friend and came to DC for the advocacy day.
