Can we hold back two weeks outing for dinner and contribute that money to IV.
Sure i can and i did $200. More follows at the first sight of some hope after the recess. Nonetheless, Core Team please keep up the rock solid motivation and spirit to get us through this ordeal
For the record, this is my 9th yr in US and about to file for my 4th EAD. With July 02 PD in EB3 .. not sure what and when to expect. You bet i am from retrogressed country.
I can only hope this team do not loose their spirit with any setbacks.

Suggestions to everyone wanting to file I485 when their date is not current:
- Talk to the leaders of this campaign. Do not just sit back after voting. Ask what help they need and what work you can do as a volunteer. People affected need to take lead and work hard for any fix. This will not cost you any money. All you need to give is your time.
- Consider signing up for recurring contributions every month. It takes lot of resources to run an advocacy effort and your support is critical.

@Cali - I wish we could have got it together - really! I know the frustration...But may be few more days and you will be through as well. lets keep the hope. You have been great although we got e-introduced only couple of weeks back...
anyone who is in the same boat - write on the forums - help each other and provide any nugget that could change the game...I do believe I got tremendous help from this forum and the morale support that was needed just to bear through each day. It helped me with my emotions and provided guidance and some comparisons.
It is easier said than done - but hang in there!

Same situation happened to myfather. He attenede visitor visa interview. VO told him that he will be getting passport in a week. But we waited for more than 10 days. When we checked online status, address in VFS was wrong. So it went to wrong address.
Call VFS customer service. customer service is really good.They can help you to get the passport to ur correct address.

When you call the law makers and tell them you support XYZ bill.. my question is what do you get out of it!
When the lawmaker realizes that he is getting 10000 calls from LEGAL aliens,
>who are not from his constituency,
>who can�t vote and
>who can�t contribute to his election campaign�
what is the motivation for the law maker to support the bill�
So to avoid sounding stupid and foolish and desperate when you call� a more logical approach would be to :
a) Generate a public petition form on IV website and have all the members� login and sign the forms digitally�
b) Then have IV reps.. fax them and send them to lobby groups �.
c) Lawmakers will listen to one talking head�and not worry abt 1000 calls that borders on ..�saar �support the bill saar�..
How many of you have actually talked to the lawmakers? Its always the assistant!
But instead .. someone says we have a signed petition of 25000 members effected by immigration mess �. And it�s a hi tech workers lobby group ..every lawmaker will talk to you and not the assistant!
Conclusion: calling the lawmakers haphazardly is actually hurting IV cause..to a certain extent!

Honestly, I agree with you...but the underlying fact is some people get motivated for calling the senators and some for anonymous fax/email/flowers and some for rallies. There is definitely a subset who does all...but unless you are a Gandhi/MLK/JFK/Mandela....it's hard to drive people in one route.

Can you quote the section of the US constitution that prevents discrimination based on "country of origin"?
1. Constitution overrules any law and has the power to render any law invalid. No nonsense here (which means all that you said about INS,INA etc etc is nonsense)
2. The last para is just your OPINION, so I let it pass
