Your contribution is not welcomed. Go back to where you came from and contribute there.
You say you start 25% of the companies. Though, I dont believe this number but what about the remaining 75%? Also, what percentage of employment do such companies generate? Negligible! Every Joe Schmuck can start a company; it takes only few hundred dollars. And by the way, those were supposed to be my dollars.
Having said that, I would like to remind the readers I have great respect for those with leadership qualities. Now, my questions to all, what percentage of green card aspirants start such companies?
Just 1%, what about the remaining masses, they in my mind are parasites, sloths, cowards and will do more harm than good to our society.
And this actually strengthen our argument that employment based quota should be drastically reduced and made available to real people only.
You just dont deserve it
So are we putting up with all the biased folks like you. We go to work everyday and earn our pay. We are not a burden to US. We contribute to the economy. We start about 25% of the companies. I can go on and on.
My question first though to the mods is why is this guy and his IP not banned?

vijay226: The following is just my opinion and it is in no way a personal attack. Please come up with similar ideas like the one you just posted below. Useful or not, all ideas count as long as it is pointed towards solving the issue in a constructive manner.
Reply to your message: We should not propose a fee for this kind of administrative change. There are few reasons for that. 1) This is just a workflow change and an internal procedural change for the USCIS. 2) There is no need for any additional incentive for the government as this is in effect not taking anything extra from the US soil in terms of opportunity etc. 3) Any addition of fee requires administration to get it approved through the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and it will make this a legislative affair. That means the whole assumption of getting it through admin fix becomes invalid. 4) In any case, if administration wants to make some extra money from us, they will come up with that proposal.
Once again thanks for your great point and contribution. Please continue to do so.
i think we are also need to provide some incentive to the government also for doing this, say some nominal fees around 600$ and any one contribute more than that will be tax free which goes into financial bailout package. At the end everyone wins and everyone is happy

Consider a $25 pledge from me towards this effort. Would appreciate it if we are told what information are we asking for? I have seen many questions in different messages. It would be great if we can get a consolidated list of questions/information we will be asking.
TIA.
Thats one of the tasks. There were multiple reasons why I was waiting for IV to show little more interest on this. We need 3 person team to tell us exactly what data and what format we need them and whether USCIS can get us that information with proposed charges.
3 Volunteers required who can decide exactly what data is required, we have rough idea but need final document on this. Amits, would like to lead this?

Is there anybody, in DC who can be there on July 10th to witness this and report this
Especially, when the FTD/1800 flowers deliver these stuff
Also, can we ask the media to be present to witness the spectacle
Anand
It is good to know that people are acting! Do let your friends know about the article on Times of India. It can encourage more people!

I am waiting for someone from IV core to endorse the idea.
Please contact IV core before you do these kind of campaigns.
I think that the IV core is aware of this campaign. They are not against it, as far as I understand, though obviously, there is no direct endorsement from them either.
I think this is a great idea to get media attention - something different and unique, and media always loves these things. The only thing that can doom it to failure is lack of enough numbers.
If we go and tell a journalist about this campaign, the first question we will be asked is, "how many flowers are you talking about?" and if our answer would 50 or 100, then the story dies right there. 250,000 affected skilled immigrants and only 100 of them are enthu enough to send flowers - well that's no story .
So the only thing I can say is that at worst, this action will do you no harm and you will be out of 30-40 dollars. But at best, this can give us a media spotlight - and I think it is worth it.

Not limiting ourselves to "professionals"...
J. M. Coetzee came to the US from South Africa as a student. He got his Ph.D. in (English) literature from the University of Texas, Austin. Worked as a professor in the US for many years.
His application for green card was treated almost with contempt! It was rejected.
He left the US, but occassionally visited top English/Literature departments in the US for brief periods, lecturing and collaborating.
He was awarded the Nobel prize in literature in 2003. He is now settled in Australia.
I could go on and on and on ...
Wow. I'm a fan of Coetzee -- can you tell us more about his green card experience? Why was it denied?

As someone who is dealing with a screwed up legal immigration system, I find it funny when the "Anti-Illegal Immigration" folks talk about following to the law.
Clean up the legal immigration system first and then round up and deport all the folks who don't follow the law.
I am fine with deporting this woman but please treat her with dignity as a human first.
- JK
PS - BTW, I support the Death penalty but even for those on Death row, we should treat them with basic human dignity.
Also, I find it funny, when folks who have paid for labor substitution talk about Illegals getting better deals.

All people affected by USCIS blocking approvals for current people, lets get organized.
This time USCIS is hiding by not making official announcements.
We need to act as we did last July.
Lets send letters to congressman like zoe lofgren.
NSC is issuing frivolous RFEs as delaying tactics.
I am not seeing similar outrage as we saw last year.

Having diversity AND country quota for skilled employment is affirmative action gone waco. EB skilled immigration is to allow businesses to hire foreign labor for jobs they can't find American Citizens. Now to restrict businesses to discriminate based on the country of birth is just riduculous. Next do Universities apply affirmative action to their international student recruitement?
Indians and Chinese make up the largest group of international students in Engineering and Science. US citizens make up less than 50% of those graduating in Science and Engineering in Master's and PhD programs. Now businesses should not be penalized if they can't fill their highly skilled jobs with Iranians and Tongans and any other ROW countries.
We have a diversity lottery for nationals of those countries who would not make it out on merit and need a leg up. There may be a few Indian consulting companies who favor Indians, but they are the people who pay wages and know best. Similarly just because Americans prefer to buy Japanese cars we can't create an "affirmative action" and prevent americans from buying Japanese cars. We can't prevent walmart from stocking chinese products. So why force employers not to hire Indians and Chinese through creating quotas for highly skilled jobs?
No meaningful immigration reforms can be achieved as long as skilled immigration is based on country quotas. Next we know there will be quotas for marrying foreigners to add to diversity. If you marry a mexican there is retrogression but if you marry a citizen of Vanuatu then green card is processed in ROW:)
I was just making my point how ridiculous it is to have quotas for skilled immigration but not for others including asylum cases.
I'm not saying it is right. I think there should be no quotas; diversity or otherwise. It should follow normal business practices. Can't find american, we need you now you start working. This is how it works in everyday business.
However; we need to understand why doesn't immigration follow normal business practices. is it that we place more value on our contributions then what the country does. Is EB just another route to get people here like family, asylum, refugees, etc?
Although it may sound ridiculous but why is everyone want to put any limits to it. If proper controls can be put in place that there are genuine jobs and candidates are genuine then there shouldn't be any limits. How come no one wants to go for this solution. It actually makes more sense then just increasing the quota or not including dependents, etc.

On my 485 receipt, I have RD as 7/20/07, ND as 9/13/07. But when I check my case online, it has 9/12/07.
I had called TSC yesterday and the rep kept telling 9/12/07 and TSC is processing 8/30/07. I told her I have the original receipt in front of me and it says 7/20/07 and not sure where you are getting 9/12 from. She said "Oh I am sorry, I was looking at the incorrect place". She later gave me a SR # and took all the info. The funny part was she even refused to open a SR telling the date was 9/12.
Not sure whether opening a SR now will help but trying does not hurt and it is FREE !!!! Hopefully the officer looks at my file and then approves it.

As I see, those who substituted labor would not want their priority dates moved back as per the date of substitution (filing I-140). This is an open forum.

So, basically if I get a new I-94, am I in status again? Someone mentioned that you should be in status since your last arrival to the US. That was in 2004. So, i was under teh impression that I had to leave the country and return and things would be OK.
If you know, can you PM me any lawyer who you can help in this matter?
Yes when you leave the country you are in status again! for i-485 AOS, USCIS will look at your status since your LAST entry into the country
